A LinkedIn Recruiter alternative
A seat licence gives you a search box. Somebody still has to use it.
The seat is not the work
- Boolean strings.
- InMail credits.
- Profiles as evidence.
- A seat nobody has time to sit in.
LinkedIn Recruiter buys you filters, InMail credits and the largest professional profile database there is. For a full-time recruiter it is close to essential infrastructure, and nothing here says otherwise.
For a founder it is a per-seat cost attached to a job nobody has time for. The filters only see what people chose to put on their profile, the InMails get a response rate that reflects how many identical ones arrive, and every reply still lands on you.
There is also a coverage problem. The strongest signal on many candidates is not on LinkedIn at all. It is a repository, a postmortem on their own blog, a conference talk. A profile-only search cannot see any of it.
What changes
Evidence, not self-description
The agent reads what people have built and written, then says which of your requirements that evidence meets and which it does not.
Messages people answer
Each email references the person's own work and comes from your address rather than a recruiter seat, which is most of why replies happen at all.
The replies are handled
Questions answered from your brief, your screening questions asked in thread, and only the one you must answer routed to you.
No seats to buy
You are not licensing a tool for a person you do not have. Flat monthly per agent, plus a success fee when someone is hired.
Side-by-side
Compare the workflow, not just the feature list.

Questions.
Answered.
Yes, as one source among many, and you can connect your own account so the agent can see and use your network.
It depends on how much you hire. A seat is a fixed annual cost whether or not anyone uses it; the agent is monthly while a search runs, plus a success fee on a hire.
They are still found. The difference is that people with evidence elsewhere are found too, and are usually the stronger read.
Yes. Most do. The agent covers sourcing and first-touch, the recruiter keeps the relationships.
Superposition vs. LinkedIn Recruiter
LinkedIn Recruiter gives you access to the obvious database. Superposition does the work of finding and engaging the non-obvious candidates.
A Wellfound alternative for startups
When the applicant pool is not the problem you have.
